iOS app data: what is covered today?

Diggr's current download rankings focus on Android apps on Google Play. iOS App Store download rankings are not currently available in Diggr. This guide explains what to check when extending an Android product discovery workflow to iOS.

Treat each store as a separate market

An Android app and an iOS app with a similar name may belong to different developers or offer different features. Confirm the developer, store listing and product identity before considering them counterparts. An Android package identifier does not identify an iOS App Store listing.

Do not transfer download figures across platforms

A Google Play download total is not an iOS download estimate. Audience, regions, release dates, pricing and distribution can differ between stores. Android traction can suggest a user problem worth investigating, but it does not prove demand or paid conversion for an iOS version.

Use Android research to form a hypothesis

Start with a specific task that appears in recent Android releases, such as a focused image-editing workflow or a learning aid. Inspect the product experience, then independently check whether equivalent iOS products exist and how their positioning differs. Keep platform-specific observations separate in your research notes.

Check the evidence behind any iOS dataset

Before comparing third-party iOS download or revenue estimates, ask which countries and time periods they cover, how estimates are produced and when observations were updated. Public store information and modelled performance metrics are different types of evidence. Diggr does not substitute Android numbers for unavailable iOS figures.
