Sector new-app rankings use a rolling window of the past three calendar months. Eligible apps have a release date inside that window and positive cumulative downloads. Results are ordered by cumulative downloads, with at most 100 apps per category; categories with fewer matches show their actual result count.
Check the identity of each app
Names can be reused by different developers. Check the Android package identifier and linked store profile when investigating an app. Read its description and available screenshots to understand its purpose before comparing it with similarly named products.
Compare growth with the right context
A lifetime download total measures accumulated traction. A monthly download figure measures a specific period, while a growth percentage compares periods. Check the dates and estimation labels in the interface. An app with fewer lifetime downloads may still be gaining momentum faster than a larger competitor.
Keep the coverage limits in view
The ranking snapshot is a candidate set and does not represent every Google Play listing. Refreshing a ranking does not mean every app received a new observation that day. Diggr shows source dates so you can distinguish ranking refresh time from the age of an app's download observations.
